在云南，只要有火的地方就有伴，农村的家里几乎都会有一个火塘，有的用砖砌，有的用石头堆，还有些直接买个大火盆直接用的。家里一直用的火盆，都坏得差不多了，这次从普洱回来，就照着拉祜族和佤族家里火塘的样子，在家里也做一个，白天用来制作食物，晚上用来取暖，一年四季白天黑夜都能用得上，几乎永不会熄灭。天气慢慢转凉，我们的问候开始变成“走，克我家烤火” ，你们也有用火塘的习惯吗?

In Yunnan, where there is a fire pit, there are friends. Almost all homes in villages have fire pits, some are made of bricks, some are made of stones, and some are directly made of large pots. The pot that we’ve been using has broken down. After returning from Pu’er, I made a fire pit at home based on the fire pits in the homes of the Lahu and Wa people. During the day, it’s used for making food; at night, it’s used for heating. All year round, day and night, it’s useful and the fire never goes out. It’s getting cooler and the greeting among us has changed to “Let’s go to my home to get warm”. Do you have fire pits at home?

Gray tofu.I learn so much about traditional Chinese cooking methods from your videos. something I would never see in America other than videos like yours. I’m so grateful. When I first saw you burning the grasses to ash and then throwing in the tofu, I thought “what is she doing?” LOL, The ash simply works as a “dye” to color the tofu gray. perfect ! I’m going to try the lime, honey, and green tea at home, that looks awesome for the final days of summer.

I really love how you have family in the videos, I don’t even know them, but it feels so much more together with so many people talking, and working together. Plus you cook things so differently, I learn so much, especially love seeing so many different kitchen tools.
