Good God that’s too much work for a sandwich.
Recipe, in english: i tried my best to put it in order, but it varies slighty; I put the ingredients in the beginning and recipe after:
=====Ingredients=====
=Sandwich=
1/4 cabbage
1/4 teaspoon of salt
30 ml of vinegar
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1/2 teaspoon of sugar
4 eggs (for soft-boiled eggs)
2 eggs (for more hard-boiled eggs)
Four slices of bread (to toast later)
Some mustard (she uses both dijon and regular mustard to spread on the toast)
Four slices of ham
=Soup=
1/4 onion
1/2 clove of garlic
1/2 tomato
1/2 a slice of bacon (her slices of bacon are pretty big tho)
=Yogurt=
Some yogurt and fruit (she used melons)
=Milktea=
Tea leaves
Water
Milk
Sugar
=====Recipe=====
==FOR THE SANDWICH==
Slice the cabbage finely (look at vid).
Mix 1/4 teaspoon of salt with cabbage and let it sit for a little bit (she puts it in the fridge).
While the cabbage sits in the fridge, prepare the ingredients for the soup.
Dice 1/4 onion
Mince 1/2 clove of garlic
Cut 1/2 tomato to edible slices
Cut 1/2 a slice of bacon (her slices of bacon are pretty big tho)
Once finished, set the ingredients aside.
Time to prepare the eggs:
4 eggs (for soft-boiled eggs)
2 eggs (for more hard-boiled eggs)
For the soft-boiled eggs: once the water starts to boil, keep the eggs in for another 5 minutes at medium heat.
To make sure the yolk comes to the center, occasionally stir the eggs while they boil.
When they are done, puts the eggs in an ice bath to make sure it doesn’t continue to cook.
Cook the hard-boiled eggs for 5 minutes longer than the soft-boiled eggs.
Time to return to the cabbage.
Take it out of the fridge, and remove the water from the cabbage (by squeezing it).
Add 30 ml of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, and a little salt and pepper to the squeezed cabbage.
Mix thoroughly, then refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
While the cabbage refrigerates,
Crush the hardboiled eggs for the egg-salad.
Once crushed, add 2 tablespoons of mayo and little salt and pepper. Mix well. (She adds more mayo at this point because she likes it.)
Now we will focus on the soup.
Add a sufficient amount of olive oil into a saucepan.
Sauté the garlic, let it simmer, then add the bacon and onions. Cook for a little bit then add 450 ml of water.
Add one cube of bouillon. Let it stew for a little over medium heat.
Finely chop some parsley.
Remove the scum at the top of the soup. Continue to let it stew.
Add the tomatoes and add some salt and pepper. Let it stew. Have a little taste then adjust for salt and pepper.
Put them into bowls
==PUTTING THE SANDWICH TOGETHER==
Toast 4 slices of bread.
Take out 4 slices of ham
Spread a little bit of Dijon and regular mustard onto a toasted slice of bread.
Place 2 slices of ham on top, then spread half of the egg salad mixture on top.
Place two soft boiled eggs on top of the egg salad mixture.
Place half of the shredded cabbage mixture on top.
For the other piece of toast, spread a sufficient amount of butter on it. Place it on the other slice. (She wraps it up to make it easier to eat.)
Repeat for the other sandwich.
After letting the sandwiches sit for about 5 minutes, cut the sandwiches in half, then place them on a place. Sprinkle some black pepper and parsley for garnish.
==FOR THE YOGURT==
Get some yogurt into a bowl
Add some melons
Refrigerate
==FOR THE MILKTEA==
In one pot, put in tea leaves and water until the tea leaves are steeped enough.
In another, boil some milk.
Add the contents of the first pot into the milk.
Add sugar, then let it continue to steam (?)
hope this helps?? ;–;

welcome to the japanese world of “not rushing things”
Am i the only one that thought of the wrapping paper was too excessive? That bread is HUGE
Japanese ppl are the most patient people in the world when it comes to making food
Didn’t know a simple meal can be so time consuming and fiddly in putting it together!
i’d be starving to death by the time all the meals are ready 😁
Would never have thought about putting cabbage in an egg sandwich and such a long process, I would not have the patience but I just love how precise they are, fascinating to watch!
This video is so relaxing and nice. Amazing food. What a wonderful feeling.
Please reduce plastic wrap using. You can use reusable stuff.
This is the most beautiful sandwich i’ve ever seen 👍🏻❤️
Thank you for the English subtitles! I love watching you cook! Its definitely an Art, hello from florida!
Lol, it all looks great but when she made tomato soup I though “Honey, that’s no tomato soup…” xD
We need to be more ecological in our home, and remove all the plastic as much we can. Tanks for the recipe

“Honey im making bfast”
Me : snoozing another 90min
Even as a hungry person, I would definitely struggle to eat a sandwich that big. XD
Me: Oh man that sandwich looks amazing, I want one exactly like it, just as neat and perfect
Also me: Ok but you could have been eating that sandwich like 20 minutes ago if you skipped 12 unnecessary steps
Alas, she gets to eat the fancy sandwich and I do not lol
if the one who will eat these doesn’t appreciate it, I don’t know anymore
When you let the sandwiches sit for 5 minutes and while you patiently sitting and starving. 🤭🤣 Just cut that looking good sandwich!
I literally came here just to see the sandwhiches and ended up watching the whole thing….
I love how its called Party Kitchen cause her food is a party in my mouth
The sandwiches look absolutely gorgeous, almost a shame to eat LOL!
2:17 it takes a lot of skill to eye out where the middle is and have perfect halves 😍
Hello, I really enjoy your videos. I’m from Paris and you’re with me every morning. You make me cool off before going to work. Thank you for that 🙂
well I thought u didn’t really need extra wrapping, if u just put it on the plate and then eat it..and this video seriously, it’s take so long long long. u really need extra fast to cook or maybe u can edit some unnecessary things in this video.. in general, I’m appreciated with ur hard work
After watching a lot of Japanese preparing food vlogs , I realised their infinite care and precision , real lessons in mindfullnes .Also they eat an incredible amount of eggs , they are present in almost every meal while eggs should be eaten only in the mornings.the calm in this video brings peace of mind aka real happiness.thank you.
Lots of effort behind a “sandwich” !! Love to have one but to make one :p
me when making a sandwich: grabs bread, butter ham and mustard- 2 minutes later: oh yeah, that is some gourmet shit XD
the most underrated sando in cafes. i never knew the process would be this taihen
the preparation is too long. The thrill of eating the sandwich is killing me. hehehe
Translated: “Soft-boiled egg sandwich-point of naughty sand!”
Hey mom! What’s for lunch? I need something quick.
How about a simple egg sandwich.
Sure!
Give me an hour and 15 minutes. I need to let the cabbage sit for 30 minutes an spend another 15 folding the paper for your food.
Really enjoyed watching but I have to say that’s a whole lot of paper and plastic. And wrapping seems to take more time than cooking…
I wish someone could carring me like this chef carring the food
There’s just something about people packing food nicely and patting it…
really satisfying watching the whole meal come together but that really is a lot of plastic wrap… i just cover food with plates or bowls if i need to leave it out for a short period, you can get food covers (like the ones they use in restaurants) made from net, plastic or metal too.
I’m lactose intollerant, that plus all this egg makes, for a bad evening for my girl lmao. Great video though! Very soothing.
This is very satisfying to watch and I’m sure it’s very tasty, only the amount of plastic beeing used is disheartening.
I have one of those sandwiches for lunch every once and a while I just don’t put the boiled egg in it.lol the one I get is and egg salad with krout.
Calling this a “ sandwich “ is almost disrespectful. I would LOVE eat something this beautiful. Apparently worth the effort!
I wanna see the dishwasher situation after all of that cooking, this is a very elaborate home cooking!
I made this sandwich for my wife and she was very impressed. Thank you for making this video
Ok so I’m deep into Quarantine™ and watched this video and craved for it so much I decided to make it.
And HOLY SHIT: it’s DELICIOUS
If you’re pressed for time, you can just substitute the egg salad with cheese and mayonaise and a little pepper (w mustard if you like)
and just open up some miso soup for a filling side. Note: You wanna be very hungry before you eat this sandwich. 🙂
But what you want to spend time on is the: pickled cabbage w sugar
and soft boiling your eggs, and maybe 5 mins toasting some good bread.
You don’t necessarily have to use parchment paper, but it does help when you want to slice your sandwich in half, rather than just the plastic stretching everywhere.
I think the bigger the bread the more filling it’ll contain and it’ll keep the thick eggs in, my bread was way too rectangular and couldn’t hold in all the cabbage.
It’s so worth it, and absolutely perfect. The pickled cabbage balances the richness of the soft egg, mayo and cheese, and the crunchy buttered cheesy bread on bursting egg yolk textures are amazing. I’m normally not a mayo with eggs type of person, but it hit the spot just right. SUPER DELICIOUS AND FILLING!
Hi Party Kitchen, for the parsley, after you mince them, put them in a piece of cheese cloth, squeeze out the juice, run the whole bundle through cold water, repeat 2 times, squeeze dry completely; by doing so, your minced parsley will be separated from each other and will stay fresh in the fridge for a few more days. Hope it helps 🙂
America: make this in half the time and double the portion.
Such beautiful preparation. The lighting, the music, and the kitchen were all perfect.
I usually watch receipe then make my own version. In this case, I think I’ll take the soft boiled eggs and pickle cabbage, and eat it over slice of sour dough. The spread would be optional. Hopefully that cuts down the time!
What I love most about your cooking videos and in Japanese culture is how clean and organized the foods prepared are. No crumbs, no fallen lettuce or egg bits, and especially how you used the wrap to cover the sandwich.
No food waste, I love it!!!
Thank you for the inspiring cooking recipes.
That’s a lot of egg in one meal.
“thumb down people are jealous they don’t have the sandwich. ”
That’s the only rational reason I can come up with…
me like getting up at 3 a.m. start to prepare it………… at finally eat it at 11am! nuh ! thank you!
this channel is literally the lawful good version of binging with babish
You’ve a very skilled and loving wife, friend
Did she.. did she just gift wrap a sandwich? I am in love.
Is this not a ton of food? No way I could eat all of that…
That’s the best looking ham and egg sandwich I’ve ever seen.
Finally when someone says some olive oil, it’s literally some olive oil, not like half a bottle. WE LIVIN
I would love to see a tour of your kitchen, your tools and how you store everything. 💕
I made this it was so delicious. However it was hysterically bad to look at, not at all as beautiful of a presentation
would love to try making this! always love japanese egg sando <3
It always feels like cooking mama whenever someone adds onion then ham and etc
Sandwich Recipe: prep time 90 minutes, cook time 5 minutes, gift wrap time 20 minutes, eat time 2 minutes.
Awesome 👍🏻
One thing I’ve come to recognize, after living in Japan for the brief time I’ve been here, is that I’m used to a lot more herbs in my dishes. For example, I won’t even bother making egg salad unless I have dill on hand (even dry dill added to the mayonnaise and refrigerated for an hour prior to use). I’ve been looking for fresh basil in every organic marketing I find, with no luck. It’s a bit disappointing as many western dishes tend to be on the insipid side without some herbs to brighten things up and add that little bit of oomph.
Que lindo, quanto capricho 💕💕💕
I have enormous respect for the Japanese gentle folk…when it comes to living life in the slow lane, they are streets ahead of us…this beautifully made sandwich is a perfect example 👌
Qué lindo es aprender algunos platillos mientras repasas japonés 😊
I just made this and it’s fantastic! Followed everything exactly except I added some green onion to the egg salad. The flavors are amazing (use rice vinegar for the cabbage!) and it’s fresh, perfect for summer. Thanks for the great recipe!
